Spread Wings with Childlike Innocence, Embrace Summer Blossoms

Warm breezes sweep through the early summer streets, blooming flowers adorn the lush branches, and cicadas usher in the prelude of summer. We greet the long-awaited International Children's Day in this gentle and lovely June. It is a festival exclusively for children across the world, one of the most vivid, joyful and unforgettable chapters in childhood. For every student, Children's Day is far more than just a festival. It stands for happiness, growth, hope and dreams, holding our purest wishes and visions for the future.

Children's Day has always been the most special day of the year in my memory. Different from the family reunion during the Spring Festival and the new beginnings on New Year's Day, the joy of this festival belongs only to innocent kids. Soft sunlight filters through the leaves, casting dappled golden spots on the ground. As we step into the campus, festive greetings greet us everywhere. Colorful balloons and fluttering banners hang at the school gate. Hand-copied newspapers with creative designs and bright colors line the corridors. The playground is covered with green grass, and the wind carries the fresh scent of flowers and plants. Mixed with the cheerful laughter of students, it forms the most heartwarming scene of early summer.

Every year, our school prepares a rich variety of activities to let us set aside academic pressure and fully enjoy the happiness of childhood. The celebration kicks off with a solemn flag-raising ceremony. All teachers and students stand in respectful silence, watching the Five-Star Red Flag rise slowly to the stirring national anthem. Young voices echo across the campus, every note filled with the sincere love of the new generation of teenagers for our motherland. Under the national flag, the principal sends us sincere holiday greetings. He tells us to cherish our childhood, enrich our knowledge, cultivate good virtues and grow up with gratitude. His words remain deeply rooted in every young heart.

The art performance is the highlight of Children's Day. On the stage, young students show their best selves. After weeks of careful rehearsal, they put on a wonderful show for everyone. Graceful traditional dances display the vitality of teenagers. Emotional poetry recitals express our ideals and sense of responsibility. Funny skits draw continuous applause and laughter from the audience. Melodious instrumental music lingers in the air. Students in the audience wave small colorful flags and cheer loudly to support their classmates on stage.

The most popular part is definitely the fun garden games. The school has set up more than ten interesting activities, including ring toss, arrow throwing, blind drum beating, riddles and marble picking. We walk around different booths in groups with game cards in hand. Some focus hard to win the games, some comfort their friends after failure, and others share joy and small prizes after success. These simple games bring us pure happiness without complicated rules. Besides, the charity sale warms the whole campus. Students donate idle books, toys and handcrafts to set up stalls. All the income goes to help students in need. In this process, we learn to share and devote ourselves, making the joy of Children's Day warmer and more meaningful.

Childhood is the most precious time in one's life. During these years, we live carefree days with stars in our eyes and dreams in our hearts. We dare to pursue dreams and try new things bravely. Growing up in a prosperous new era, we are surrounded by love from families, careful guidance from teachers and protection from our motherland. We enjoy superior growing conditions. Free from hardships and difficulties, we only need to absorb knowledge and improve ourselves steadily.

Time passes quietly, and childhood fades away soon. We cannot stop the flow of time, but we can always keep our original heart. On this Children's Day, let us take it as a new starting point.
